My name is Kelly Su, founder of Baby Moon.  My design philosophy is to create functional products with modern style at an affordable price for all moms (and dads).  The inspiration for the Baby Moon pillow and neck support was born from my experience with my own baby, Kaitlyn.  

When Kaitlyn was 3 months old, her pediatrician noticed that the back of Kaitlyn’s head was becoming flat.   She said Kaitlyn’s head was not severely flat yet, but it could get worse, with the potential of developing “positional plagiocephaly,” also known as “flat head syndrome.”  This condition occurs when one or more joints between the bones of the skull close up too early and the baby’s head becomes deformed.   Kaitlyn’s pediatrician suggested we try repositional therapy.  But Kaitlyn disliked tummy-time and lying on her side and continued to lie on her back.  

I began searching for solutions by researching and buying products and reaching out to moms on blogs with similar issues.  I found that “flat-head syndrome” was much more prevalent than I had expected and that many mother’s shared my experience with this condition.  However, I never found a solution that helped my baby.  As a concerned mother, I was running out of options.   So as a designer, I created an innovative pillow, which would later become the Baby Moon pillow and neck support.  

Kaitlyn used the pillow consistently for a couple months, and her pediatrician noticed major improvements in Kaitlyn’s head shape at her 6-month check-up.  We noticed that the pillow also functioned as a great neck support in the car seat and stroller to prevent her neck from lolling to the side when she was asleep.   And we all have seen babies uncomfortably sleeping in strollers and car seats with their heads lolling all around.

I decided to produce the Baby Moon pillow for the public, given the need for this product in the marketplace.   In doing so, a high priority was to make the pillow affordable, so all moms (and dads) can share my solution to the flat-head syndrome.   I am proud to say that the pillow is manufactured in the USA. And for easy care, the whole pillow is machine washable.   I hope you and your baby will benefit from my Baby Moon pillow and neck support as much as Kaitlyn and I have.
